FLATLITE is an electroluminescent light source, also known as a Light Emitting Capacitor (LEC). It produces light when phosphor crystals are excited by being exposed to electric current. Electroluminescent (EL) panels and strips can be found as backlighting for LCDs in pagers, cell phones, watches, and control panels as well as strip lighting for egress, decor architecture, broadcast sets, and much more.
FLATLITE is available in widths from 6mm to 760mm and is purchased off the roll to customised lengths. It is only .6mm thick and can be bent, cut and folded. The unique split electrode technology allows for extraordinary lengths of the product to be used while maintaining brightness and an absolutely consistent light for the entire length. Sun Industries supports the product throughout Australia and New Zealand, offering technical support, assisting with specifications and ensuring the lamp and it’s power supplies are fully tested and calibrated. Their existing knowledge of EL ensures FLATLITE is installed right the first time with minimal maintenance.
